Reader Progress is now something an AI assistant can use directly. Not by scraping this page. Through a proper front door, with your permission, revocable any time.

The address

That's an MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the open standard Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and most agent tools speak). Sign-in is standard OAuth. Your assistant never sees your password.

Connect it

Claude

Open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector.
Paste https://api.null-space.xyz/mcp and add it.
Click Connect. Sign in on the page that opens and press Allow.

ChatGPT

Open Settings, then Apps and Connectors.
Turn on Developer mode under Advanced if it isn't on.
Choose Create, paste the address, pick OAuth, and save.
Sign in on the page that opens and press Allow.

Claude Code, Cursor, and others

Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth works. For Claude Code:

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code to sign in.

What it can do

list_books	Your books, progress, and when you last opened each one
get_book	One book by title, with your exact position
get_reading_activity	What you read over the last N days, per book
get_highlights	Highlights and notes synced from KOReader
get_vocabulary	Words you saved in the vocabulary builder, with their sentences
rename_book	Give a book a real title instead of a filename
link_editions	Treat the EPUB and the MOBI as one book

The first five only read. The last two change things and need the "rename and link" permission, which you grant on the sign-in page. Your password, your account, and the ability to sync from KOReader are never exposed to the assistant.

Disconnecting

Remove the connector in your assistant's settings. Access tokens expire within an hour and the assistant can't get a new one once the connector is gone. To cut everything off at once, change your KOReader password: every assistant will be asked to sign in again.
