Spirit Board AR Privacy Policy

Effective October 4, 2026

Spirit Board AR is an augmented reality party game for iPhone and iPad made by Nullspace LLC. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

Summary
Your camera, your voice and your questions stay on your device. We receive only anonymous usage statistics and crash reports.

Camera

Spirit Board AR asks for camera access so it can show the board on a real surface in your room. Camera images are processed on your device. They are not recorded, saved, or sent to us.

Microphone and speech recognition

While you hold the microphone button, your speech is turned into text on your device using Apple's speech recognition. Audio is not recorded, saved, or sent to us. You can type your question instead if you prefer not to use the microphone.

Questions and answers

The board's answers are produced on your device, either by Apple's on-device language model or from a list built into the app. Your questions and the answers are not saved, and they are not sent to us or to any other company.

Playing with people nearby

If other people near you open the app, your devices connect directly to each other over an encrypted local connection so everyone sees the same board. To line the board up in the same place, the devices exchange augmented reality mapping data about the immediate surroundings, the position of the board, and the text the board spells. This information travels only between the participating devices. It is not sent to us and we cannot see it. The app asks for Local Network access for this purpose. You can decline and still play on your own device.

What we collect

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. Through these services we receive:

  • Usage events, such as "board placed" or "question asked". These never include what you said, what you typed, or what the board answered.
  • Device and app details, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate country.
  • Crash and performance reports, such as the technical state of the app when it stopped working.
  • An app installation identifier created by Firebase. It identifies an installation of the app, not you personally, and is reset if you reinstall the app.

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, or the advertising identifier. The app has no accounts and no advertising, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell personal information.

Google processes this information on our behalf. See Privacy and Security in Firebase for how Google handles it.

How we use it

We use usage statistics and crash reports only to maintain and improve the app.

How long it is kept

Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days, after which Google deletes them.

Your choices

You can turn Camera, Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Local Network access on or off at any time in the Settings app. Without camera access the board cannot be shown. Without the microphone you can still type your questions. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device and resets the installation identifier. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, or deletion of, information associated with your installation. Contact us using the details below.

Children

Spirit Board AR is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
